๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Helmet Story

Tampa Bay's helmet history is a tale of two pirates. From 1976 to 1996 the white "Creamsicle" helmet carried Bucco Bruce, a winking, feather-capped swashbuckler. The 1997 rebrand brought pewter shells and a skull-and-sabers flag โ€” and a Super Bowl five years later. The Creamsicle returned as an official throwback in 2023, and the mini version sells out routinely.

๐Ÿง  Collector's Trivia

  • The Bucs lost their first 26 games (1976โ€“77), the worst start by any expansion team โ€” making the Creamsicle era oddly beloved.
  • Tom Brady's Super Bowl LV win made Tampa the first team to win a Super Bowl in its home stadium.
  • "Pewter" was a genuinely novel uniform color when introduced in 1997.
